Eurosport to Launch Danish Channel

Eurosport has announced it is launching a local channel in Denmark to air 2, here 400 hours of live sport a year.

The new channel will replace Canal 8, pills a general sports channel recently acquired by Discovery Communications.

Eurosport Denmark will be the number one channel for live sport in Denmark and will show competitions such as the Bundesliga, three Tennis Grand Slam tournaments, the Danish Alka Superlig and European football qualifiers.

“Sports has become an increasingly important part of our portfolio as we look for additional ways to build market scale and reach new and bigger audiences,” said Dee Forbes, president and anaging director, Discovery Networks Northern Europe.
