ESPN to Broadcast NFL Feeder League FXFL

October 2, 2014

The Fall Experimental Football League (FXFL) has signed a broadcast agreement with ESPN who will deliver FXFL’s inaugural season through ESPN3, ESPN’s live multi-screen sports network.

The agreement will provide national coverage of the League on ESPN3 across screens through an affiliated video or internet provider.

“ESPN is the gold standard when it comes to delivering high-quality sports broadcasting, and we are thrilled to be able to participate with ESPN3,” said FXFL Commissioner Brian Woods. “The ability to stream the League’s games via the Internet will provide FXFL fans with an opportunity to see out-of-market games, and ultimately showcase our players, coaches and referees as the next generation of professional talent.”

In a recent segment on ESPN’s television and radio simulcast “Mike & Mike” show, co-host Mike Golic said “There needs to be a minor league in football. Not a competing league, not one that plays a different kind of football, one that essentially is a feeder league to the NFL.”
