Eleven Sports has acquired exclusive rights to show the UEFA Youth League in Portugal.

The international broadcaster will show the European football tournament in the country from this coming season until 2020-21.

Eleven confirmed Portugal as its tenth market earlier this year with the acquisition of rights to the UEFA Champions League and Spain’s LaLiga.

The UK-based business currently has rights deals for the top divisions in Germany, France, Belgium and Scotland.

Danny Menken, Group Managing Director of Eleven Sports, said: “We are thrilled to build on our strong partnership with UEFA by adding UEFA Youth League to our football portfolio, strengthening Eleven Sports’ position as the go-to destination for football fans.

“Football is the number one sport in Portugal and the UEFA Youth League gives fans the opportunity to watch some of the best young talent in Europe and a chance to catch a glimpse of the next Cristiano Ronaldo.”
