Director of Events & Tournaments – FIFA

Overview:

  • – Ensuring that the appropriate hosting conditions are provided for tournaments, congresses, committee meetings and show events by working together with relevant FIFA stakeholders, stadium/venue owners, host associations, LOCs, local authorities, etc.
  • – Reviewing and making recommendations to improve the requirements and regulations for events and tournaments, and overseeing and integrating the Events and Tournaments Project Plans
  • – Acting as a key point of reference for the Chief Competitions and Events Officer on all Events and Tournaments matters and actively representing him on different occasions
  • – Managing event-related tasks, such as delegation management, travel planning, transportation, catering, guest management and hospitality
  • – Defining and implementing the service levels (guest management, protocol, creating policies, training employees, planning and inspections at venues)
  • – Motivating and managing the team, incl. annual staff appraisals
  • Requirements:
  • – Minimum seven years direct work experience in the planning and management of large-scale events (e.g. international football tournaments, congresses, corporate events, incentives)
  • – Written and oral fluency in English (minimum C1 level); additional languages (e.g. French, German or Spanish) are a plus
  • – Extensive project management, budgeting and account management skills
  • – Executive presence; experienced in working within an international environment
  • – Ability to support the team at all levels to organise large-scale events (develop concepts, identify required budgets, operational delivery)
  • – Flexibility to handle ever-changing/dynamic situations
  • – Willingness to travel
