Overview:

JOB SUMMARY: Direct the operations of event activity at Arrowhead Stadium; Chiefs games and additional stadium events.  Develop and maintain process and procedure, deliver a safe, world class experiences at Arrowhead Stadium. 

ESSENTIAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

1.      Assist the Chiefs leadership in planning, directing and managing the day-to-day operations of all events in Arrowhead Stadium to include; football games, concerts and other sporting events.

2.      Lead and manage event day staffing (sourcing, hiring and training) for all events at Arrowhead Stadium.

3.      Provide guidance and leadership to the 24/7 building security department at Arrowhead Stadium, The University of Kansas Hospital Training Complex and all other Chiefs owned or managed facilities.

4.      Assist Security leadership with all security systems to include CCTV, access control, fire suppression & radio communications, etc.  Partner with Facility Operations for the management of contracted maintenance and upkeep of these systems.

5.      Develop and execute comprehensive operating and safety plans and processes for day-to-day and event-mode operation of Arrowhead Stadium that ensure the safety and enjoyment of all guests and employees.

6.      Lead and assist in the management of the parking and traffic operation; in conjunction with vendors and local authorities.

7.      Develop and execute comprehensive ingress and egress operational plans to ensure safe and efficient parking experiences for fans.

8.      Inspire, mentor and develop staff to deliver world class service in all aspects of the operation that delights and exceeds expectations of our guests, clients and partners.

9.      Direct the development of process and procedure for the event staff personnel policy, scheduling, hiring, training and recognition programs.

10.  Lead meetings as appropriate to review event and other activity with other department heads and key staff to ensure flawless planning and execution of all events.

11.  Develop, implement and manage departmental budgets.  Monitor and approve expenditures and implement adjustments as necessary while involving direct reports in the process.

12.  Direct development of management reports and tracking of key performance indicators.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1.      Light office duties and activities.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED (EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS):

1.      Bachelor’s degree or equivalent business experience.

2.      Experience in a stadium is preferred, experience in a sports and/or public assembly venue is required.

3.      Strong leadership experience with a diverse set of reports to include full time, part time and event day staff.

4.      Experience writing and negotiating event contracts and/or license agreements.

5.      Demonstrated ability to develop, mentor and evaluate staff.

6.      Seven to ten years leadership experience in a fast-paced, high-volume, guest oriented operation such as a stadium, arena or theme park.

7.      Demonstrated ability for long range planning.

8.      Experience managing the operations of stadium events, concerts and sports events.

9.      Extensive experience and knowledge of audience control techniques and principles.

10.    Prior budget responsibility and experience required.

11.     Demonstrated knowledge of principles of operation of a public assembly facility.
