Denmark & Norway to Host EHF Euro 2020

September 22, 2014

The European Handball Federation (EHF) have announced that the Euro 2020 tournament will be jointly hosted by Denmark and Norway.

Denmark and Norway have previously worked together to host the 2010 edition.

Norway won that competition in their neighbour’s back yard, and it will be Norway that hosts the semi-finals and final in 2020.

Norwegian Handball Federation President Karl-Arne Johannesen commented:
“We had a great cooperation with Denmark in 2010 and we expect the same for 2020.

“We really have a good relationship and the Norwegian and Danish cultures are much alike.

“Also for the national teams our cooperation will add significant inspiration for the years to come.”

Danish Handball Federation President Per Bertelsen said: “We have on several occasions shown that we can manage to take international handball tournaments to a higher level for the benefit of participants, spectators, media and the Danish – and the Women’s EHF Euro 2020 will be no exception.”

This year’s Championship is being held in Hungary and Croatia from December 7 to 21.
