Deloitte tackles “Football and Finance” at GSFB 2012

Dan Jones, medstore Partner, buy Sports Business Group at Deloitte, therapy has joined the line-up of speakers for the 4th edition of the Global Sports Forum Barcelona.

He will take part in a panel session dedicated to “Football and Finance: the dangers ahead”, a debate that will focus on UEFA’s new Financial Fair Play regulations and how clubs will need to respond to remain competitive in Europe’s big five football markets.

Dan will be sharing his experiences with the audience and discuss some of the key trends affecting the football industry, as athlete’s contracts boom out of control and more foreign investors bring money to the table.

Dan is the Lead Partner of the Sports Business Group at Deloitte and manages the activities of this specialist group, which is dedicated to work in the sports business in the UK and internationally.

The group works with clubs, leagues, governing bodies, sports commercial partners, venue operators and developers, major event organisers and investors, as well as producing industry-leading sports business commentaries.

Dan is leading Deloitte’s assistance to UEFA on the development and implementation of UEFA’s Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play regulations.
He has advised numerous sports clients on their commercial, financial, structural and strategic issues – recently including a financial feasibility study into the European Games for the European Olympic Committees, the sale of Infront to Bridgepoint, the re-launch of the New York Cosmos and business planning for the launch or improvement of several major sports properties around the world.

Dan is a regular speaker and expert commentator on sports business matters and he edits Deloitte’s widely respected publications, the Annual Review of Football Finance and the Deloitte Football Money League.
