David Moyes Confirmed as 150th Speaker at the INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CONVENTION 2014

The INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CONVENTION 2014 is pleased to announce David Moyes as a speaker. David will take part in a Question and Answer Session at the Football Development Conference on day 1 – December 10, 2014.

David Moyes has formerly been Manchester United Manager, who left the club in April 2014. Previously being a Manager of Preston North End and Everton, Moyes was the 2003, 2005 and 2009 League Managers Association Manager of the Year. He is also on the Committee for the League Managers Association in an executive capacity.

David Moyes made over 540 league appearances as a centre-half in a playing career that began with Celtic, where he won a championship medal.

He then played for Cambridge United, Bristol City, Shrewsbury Town and Dunfermline Athletic before ending his playing career with Preston North End.

He became a coach at Preston, working his way up to assistant manager, before eventually taking over as manager in 1998 – his first managerial position. Moyes led Preston to the Division Two title in 1999-2000 and the Division One play-off final the following season.

Moyes became manager of Everton in March 2002 and under him the club qualified for the preliminary stages of the UEFA Champions League in 2005 and reached the 2009 FA Cup Final.

The INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CONVENTION 2014 will be taking place on December 10-11, 2014 atPalexpo, Geneva, having previously been held in Amsterdam in 2012. This will be the world’s largest Sports Convention in 2014, consisting of 18 Conferences, a shared Exhibition and many Networking opportunities. About 2,000 delegates and 150 speakers are expected to join the Convention.

The INTERNATIONAL SPORTS CONVENTION 2014 has two goals:

• ensuring business and networking occurs and through welcoming 150 speakers – ensuring best practice in Sport is shared through the conference content and
• discussing the future challenges of Sport.
