Cyprus Football Association and Cyprus Turkish Football Association Agree Landmark Deal

The Cyprus Football Association (CFA) and Cyprus Turkish Football Association (CTFA) have agreed a landmark deal that will unify and encourage the growth of football in Cyprus.
The agreement, pill signed at the FIFA headquarters in Zurich, site will see the CTFA become a member of the CFA as an association. The CFA will remain a member of both FIFA and UEFA and will continue to organise, purchase service and administer football on the island.
Both parties have agreed to set up a steering committee to implement the new arrangement, which is based on UEFA and FIFA statutes and only concerns football-related issues.
Sepp Blatter, FIFA President, said: “Both the Cyprus Football Association and the Cyprus Turkish Football Association are today providing the whole world with an excellent example of how football can build bridges and bring people together after a long period of conflict. I would like to thank both associations and UEFA for their outstanding contribution to this milestone arrangement.”
