November 5, 2013

Cricket Australia has been named the latest integrity partner of sports and betting-related data company Sportrader in a new deal.

Cricket Australia’s domestic cricket competitions, including the Ryobi Cup, BUPA Sheffield Shield and KFC Big Bash T20 League, will be monitored by Sportrader for potential corruption and fradulent activity.

Sportrader’s Fraud Detection System will monitor betting activity and report to Cricket Australia as part of efforts to ensure the sport’s integrity.

Cricket Australia’s chief executive officer, James Sutherland, said: “Cricket Australia takes the threat of betting related match-fixing very seriously and this partnership with Sportradar is the latest step taken to help uphold the integrity of cricket in Australia.”

Sportradar chief executive officer Carsten Koerl added: “It’s critical in today’s world that sports governing bodies confront the threat of betting related match-fixing and have robust preventative, detection and investigation methods in-place.”
