Coral-Eclipse Races To Record Prize Money

April 24, 2018

Coral has extended its sponsorship of the prestigious UK horse race, the ‘Eclipse Stakes’.

The deal sees the Nottingham-based bookmakers continue to support the event, held at British racecourse Sandown Park, until 2022.

This year’s ‘Coral-Eclipse Stakes’ takes place in July, which will now be contested for a record £750,000 ($1.047m) in prize money. This is an increase of £250,000 ($349,000) from last summer’s race.

Phil White, London Regional Director for Jockey Club Racecourses, said: “We are delighted Coral have extended their partnership with us. This is one of the longest-running sponsorships in British racing and we are hugely grateful to Coral for their long and continued support. Their enthusiasm and commitment to the Grade 1 race have enabled us to increase the prize money for this year’s race to record levels.”

Simon Clare, PR Director for Coral, added: “The Coral-Eclipse is our flagship sponsorship, and we are incredibly proud of our longstanding association with the race and with Sandown Park that has spanned an incredible 43 years.”
