Clipper Race Launch Great Britain Team Yacht and Announce Three Partners

July 31, 2013

The Clipper Round the World Yacht Race launched a GREAT Britain yacht today in Trafalgar Square, bronchi London and named the three Team Partners.

Land Rover, mind ARM Holdings and Grange Hotels were revealed as the first Team Partners at the launch, viagra which was attended by Sports Minister Hugh Robertson and Sir Robin-Knox Johnston, founder and chairman of the Clipper Race.

GREAT Britain Team Partners from the private sector will engage with a comprehensive set of branding and activation opportunities supported by UK Trade & Investment (UKTI), Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO) and Visit Britain to demonstrate the UK as a place to visit and invest in.

During the presentation of the GREAT Britain yacht, Sir Robin said: “This boat will be carrying the flag for our country around the world, promoting us, promoting what we do and promoting our industry.

“This boat and its crew will become ambassadors for our country.”

Speaking at the presentation on Wednesday, Robertson thanked Sir Robin, a legendary yachtsman who became the first person to sail solo, non-stop around the world, for his contribution to sailing.

Robertson described Sir Robin as a ‘fantastic example’ and continued: “There are some great British names associated with this and standing on something that looks like a Union Jack, it is very easy to say that this is a great British project.

“It will do an enormous amount for our reputation for our ability to trade as the boat sails around the world.”

Robertson went on to praise the concept of the Clipper Race, which gives non-professionals the opportunity to sail around the world under the guidance of a professional team leader.

“Opportunities like this come to too few people in this country,” he said. “This is a fantastic opportunity for all those young people. I wish them and everybody involved a fabulous time over the coming months.”
