Cleveland Indians Secure All-Star Rights

 Major League Baseball (MLB) has awarded hosting rights for its 2019 All-Star Game to the Cleveland Indians franchise.

The fixture, which is also referred to as the Midsummer Classic, will be held at the Indians’ Progressive Field ballpark. The Indians will also host other All-Star week activities and events.

The 2019 event will mark the sixth occasion that Cleveland have hosted the game. The 2017 and 2018 editions will be held by the Miami Marlins and Washington Nationals respectively.

Petco Park Stadium, home of San Diego Padres, was the venue for the 2016 All-Star match.
