July 7, 2015

iSportconnect, the world’s largest global private network of sports business executives, is delighted to announce Simon Wilson, Director of Football Services at City Football Group as a panellist for the first ever Sports Performance Masterclass, which is now just a week away.

The inaugural event will take place at the Grange St. Paul’s hotel in London on 14th July.

Wilson will be joined on the panel by Les Reed, Executive Director at Southampton Football Club, Dr Raphael Brandon, Head of Science and Medicine at the England & Wales Cricket Board, Richard Gould, Chief Executive of Surrey County Cricket Club and Ken van Someren, Head of Research & Development at the GSK Human Performance Lab.

Since joining Manchester City to set the club’s Performance Analysis function in 2006, Simon has moved through the organisation taking on strategic roles within the build of its Academy, the research and design of its new training campus, and performance infrastructure around first team.

In 2013, Abu Dhabi United Group (ADUG) expanded its football portfolio to create the City Football Group, adding New York City FC and Melbourne City FC to its team in Manchester. At the same time, Simon moved into the position of Director of Football services, providing a consistency of performance support across all clubs with the group.

iSportconnect Chairman Michael Cunnah said: “We are extremely happy to welcome Simon as our latest panellist for this exciting new event. His experience in the sports performance industry, now working across four football clubs for City Football Group, will add real value to the discussions.”

The iSportconnect Sports Performance Masterclass is the latest in a line of successful and insightful events this year and will gather industry professionals to discuss and share best practice on sports performance.

Invitation Policy: The Sports Performance Masterclass is an exclusive invite only event to senior industry executives and other similar positions at governing bodies, federations, teams/clubs and brands only.
