Chuck Blazer Suspended by FIFA over ‘fraudulent’ Behaviour

May 7, 2013

FIFA executive committee member Chuck Blazer has been suspended from football for 90 days due to ‘fraudulent’ behaviour.

Blazer, 68, who is the former General Secretary of the Confederation of North, Central American and Caribbean Association Football (CONCACAF), is alleged to have received more than £12.86m ($20m) from the association.

He is said to have abused his power by gaining personal wealth at the association’s expense.

Last month Blazer and FIFA Vice-President Jack Warner were described as ‘fraudulent in their management.’ Warenr resigned in 2011 and was accused of failing to disclose £17m ($25.9m) that was used to build a centre of excellence on his land.

The provisional ban applies to ‘any kind of football-related activity at national and international level.’

FIFA said: “Various breaches of the FIFA code of ethics appear to have been committed by Chic Blazer.”
