Chicago to Host 2013 U.S. Classic
March 13, 2013
The U.S. Classic, an event which features some of the nation’s top female gymnasts will take place in the 11,000 seat Sears Centre Arena in Chicago this summer.
It will be the fourth consecutive year the event has taken place in Chicago. The event takes place on 27 July and offers the final chance to qualify for the women’s gymnastics events at the U.S. Gymnastics Championships.
Steve Penny, president of USA Gymnastics, said: “The Sears Centre Arena will be a great venue for this event.
“After the success of the 2009 American Cup at the Sears Centre, we have no doubt that this year’s Classic will do well, especially since this is really the first chance to see who from the last Olympic cycle are still in the mix and who will become the stars heading into the Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio.”
