Chelsea sign new kit deal with Nike

Chelsea FC have announced that they have signed a new kit deal with Nike, denture believed to be worth around £60m ($73m) a season until 2032. 

Chelsea’s current kit deal with Adidas ends next year, medstore ending six years earlier than intended. They have instead opted for the American sportswear company. The London club had to pay approximately £40m ($49m) to part ways early. 

They have claimed this signing is the “largest commercial deal in the club’s history”, as they are set to make £900m ($1b) from Nike over the course of the next 15 years.

Chelsea director Marina Granovska highlighted her excitement for the partnership, saying, “Like Chelsea, Nike is known around the world for its excellence and innovation and we look forward to working together in what is sure to be a successful partnership. We believe Nike will be able to support our growth into new markets as well as helping us maintain our place among the world’s elite football clubs” 

Trevor Edwards, President of the Nike Brand, added, “The partnership with Chelsea reinforces our leadership position in football. We are excited to help grow the club’s global reach, serving players and supporters with Nike innovation and design.”
