Charles Green to Leave CEO Post at Rangers

Charles Green, capsule the CEO of Rangers Football Club, pill is reportedly going to leave his role at the Scottish Third Division champions.

Green has become embroiled in an independent investigation, ambulance commissioned by the Club’s board, following allegations he had covert dealings with former owner Craig Whyte.

He has also come under scrutiny for alleged racist remarks.

Now reports from the BBC and STV claim Green has informed the board he will stand down and it is understood Rangers are trying to announce it on the London Stock Exchange before 4pm Friday.

According to the share prospectus ahead of the flotation of Rangers International Football Club last year, Green has a 8.67% stake in the club, making him the largest individual shareholder.

On Friday afternoon, a holding of 50,000 shares were sold in Rangers International Football Club on the stock exchange, but it is not known who the seller was.

The Rangers board announced a statement on the weekend surrounding the decision to examine Green’s dealings with Whyte. The statement said: “The board has announced today it is to commission an independent examination and report in view of recent allegations in the media concerning the chief executive, Charles Green, the commercial director, Imran Ahmad, and their management of the club.

“The decision to commission the examination was taken unanimously by those in attendance at today’s meeting including non-executive and executive directors.

“The independent report will be commissioned and completed as speedily as possible and presented directly to the non-executive directors of the company.”

No formal announcement about Green’s resignation has been released.
