Champagne Joseph Perrier Sponsor Royal Southern Yacht Club’s July Summer Series Regatta
July 3, 2013
Champagne Joseph Perrier has agreed a three-year partnership deal with the Royal Southern Yacht Club to become the Club’s preferred champagne supplier and presenting sponsor of the July Summer Series Regatta.
With this agreement, Champagne Joseph Perrier and the Royal Southern have reignited a most unlikely historic relationship going back to the time of H.M. Queen Victoria, the Club’s first Patron. 175 years ago, master vintner, Joseph Perrier, was appointed supplier to the young Queen and later, to the Club’s third royal Patron, H.M. King Edward VII, gaining the appellation ‘Cuvées Royales’ for his wines.
Royal Southern Commodore, David Mead, commented: “Joseph Perrier champagne and the Club have distinguished and interlinked royal histories and it is very pleasing to bring the two together. Being able to offer Cuvée Royale Brut and Brut Rosé to our Members and enjoy the support of this classic champagne house for our July Regatta is a major plus for the Club.”
Martin Gamman is responsible for Champagne Joseph Perrier in the UK and Ireland, said: “Our whole strategy is based upon quality not volume and relies upon distribution through independent wine merchants rather than high street multiples. We are always looking for partnership opportunities of the highest quality and the Royal Southern offers us the perfect platform, both with its programme of social events and its July Regatta. New terroir for us, and very exciting.”
