The Canterbury Rugby Football Union (CRFU) has secured SBS Banks as their new principal sponsor for the ITM Cup and Canterbury Sevens teams.

SBS Bank will hold the primary branding rights for the teams in what is being described as a ‘significant commercial and strategic deal.’

The deal will see SBS Bank on the front of jersey and collar positions for both teams.

Acting CRFU Chairman Grant Jarrold said: “This is a long term investment in the success of Canterbury Rugby and we are delighted that an organisation of SBS Bank’s stature has chosen us as their brand ambassadors.

“SBS Bank has a fantastic community focus, herbal a passion for rugby and strong work ethic – similar values to Canterbury Rugby.

“We are excited about what we can both achieve in the coming years through this successful partnership.”

The deal started from June 1 and SBS Bank Area Manager Canterbury Matthew Mark said the organisation was proud to be sponsoring and supporting one of New Zealand’s most prominent and successful rugby provinces.

“The SBS team is committed to being actively involved in the Canterbury community,” said Mark. “It’s something we pride ourselves on and we’re looking forward to rolling up our sleeves and getting involved at entry level.

“We’re really excited about this partnership and it further cements our commitment to the Canterbury province.”
