Canberra Cup Gets New Naming Sponsor
June 28, 2012
Australian Capital Territory Totalizator Agency Board (ACTTAB) has become the naming rights sponsor of Canberra Centenary Cup (2000 metres) for next year’s race.
Record crowds were present at Thoroughbred Park in March for the Super Sunday 2012 event, which included the Cup, the $(AU)250,000 Black Opal Stakes (1200m), as well as the National Sprint (1400m) and the Canberra Guineas (1400m).
Canberra Racing chief executive Peter Stubbs said: “It’s a great way to celebrate Canberra’s 100th birthday, and it is only fitting that ACTTAB have the naming rights to the race having supported the local community since 1964.”
The Cup will take place on March 10.{jcomments on}
