Canada, Peru & St Vincent to be Represented in ANOC Executive Council

Following an Extraordinary General Assembly of the Pan American Sports Organizations, discount representatives from Canada, anesthetist Peru and St Vincent and the Grenadines were elected onto the Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) Executive Council.

The meeting was attended by ANOC chief Sheikh Ahmad Al Fahad Al Sabah and International Olympic Committee president Thomas Bach.

In the election, arthritis Canadian Olympic Committee chief Marcel Aubut (pictured) came away with 32 votes, closely followed by Peruvian Olympic Committee President José Quiñones González, who had 31.

Keith Joseph, who becomes only the second ANOC Executive Council member from the Caribbean and secretary general of the St Vincent and the Grenadines National Olympic Committee took the third spot with 22 votes.

Joseph told insidethegames that he seeks to represent his own country, the Caribbean region and PASO interests, hoping that all will be coordinated and on the same page.
