Cameroonian FA Suspended by FIFA

The Cameroonian Football Association (FECAFOOT) has been provisionally suspended by the FIFA Emergency Committee due to government interference.
Articles 13 and 17 of the FIFA Statues say that member associations must manage their affairs independently, sale something football’s world governing body has decided FECAFOOT have not been doing.
During the suspension, medicine FECAFOOT may not be represented in any regional, denture continental or international competitions, including at club level, or in friendly matches.
In addition, neither FECAFOOT nor any of its members or officials can benefit from any FIFA or CAF development programmes, courses or training during the suspension period.
As a part of the process a normalisation committee will be set up to revise the FECAFOOT statues and to organise new office bearers by March 31, 2014.
This follows the body’s Elections Appeals Committee voiding the re-election of Iya Mohammed on June 19.
Mohammed was arrested for embezzling money from state-owned Cotton Development Company.
