BT Sport Retains Ligue 1 Rights For UK & Ireland

BT Sport has extended its rights in the UK and Ireland to the top division of French club football, Ligue 1.

The three-year agreement, which runs from this season until 2020-21, also includes coverage of the Coupe de la Ligue cup competition.

The pay-television broadcaster will show up to five live and exclusive Ligue 1 matches every weekend, as well as a weekly preview and highlights show.

Andy Haworth, Managing Director of Strategy and Content at BT Consumer, said of the extension: “We’re delighted to continue as the home of Ligue 1 Conforama until 2021 and we look forward to bringing our viewers comprehensive coverage of all the action from France, with live matches every weekend on TV and mobile via our award-winning BT Sport App.”
