British Cycling Sign Retül as Official Bike Fit System Supplier

British Cycling has announced that Retül has become the body’s official bike fit system supplier for an initial two-year period.

The professional bike fit company uses the latest technology to provide a holistic and data led approach to ensuring efficient riding positions.

Retül will work with British Cycling’s medical team in the new sponsorship deal to ensure bikes are set up in a way to increase performance and minimise injuries.

British Cycling’s Lead Physiotherapist, Phil Burt, said: “Retül’s ethos is all about dynamic bike fit, recording data whilst the rider is in motion and so their bike fitting system is the most comprehensive yet and incredibly accurate. In the right hands this equipment is a powerful tool.

“I look forward to working with Retül over the next two years to ensure that the GB Cycling Team’s bikes provide them with the best possible riding experience on the road to Rio.”

Retül’s co-founder, Todd Carver, added: “It is an honor for Retül to be a part of the future success of their riders – particularly at World Championship, Olympic and Paralympic level – and the opportunity to work with staff at British Cycling is invaluable in terms of always improving upon our processes.

“We’re very excited to see what we can accomplish together over the next two years.”

Using 3D motion capture technology, Retül’s Vantage system records the rider’s positions in motion, and creates a picture of the rider’s interaction with the bike when out on the road and trails.

Retül will also support British Cycling’s expert knowledge zone on its website – theInsight Zone – by providing industry-leading content that the sports governing body’s 75,000 members and coaches will have exclusive access to.
