Bradford Bulls In Auction Proposal Hope

Struggling Rugby League club, The Bradford Bulls, will stage a ‘massive auction night’ on Thursday in the hope that the event will save the club from melting under growing financial difficulties.

It has been confirmed that the West Yorkshire side need to raise £1 million to stay in business, with £500,000 of that £1 million to be raised before Easter.

Since then the club has received numerous offers of support – including from ex-players Jamie Peacock and Stuart Fielden and the Lord Mayor of the City of London.

Both Peacock and Fielden have donated items for Thursday’s auction, with Peacock’s 2003 Grand Final Shirt and Ring and Fielden’s Shirt and Ring from the 2005 edition both up for sale with a reserve of £10,000.

Bulls legend Robbie Paul has also donated items to the auction, and said: ‘Bradford as a club has a strong proud Rugby League history. It hosted the largest attendance of a single match in the history of the sport and has been synonymous with success over many eras especially the Super League. It wouldn’t seem like a competition without the Bulls.

‘I have made my pledge with a host of other Rugby League stars both past and present and if we as a RL community can keep this momentum going we will all play our part in supporting this historic club.’
