Eight-time Bundesliga champions Borussia Dortmund have extended their official Champion Partner deal with Hankook until 2015.

The tyre manufacturer signed the agreement with last years’ Champions League runners-up ahead of the 1-0 victory over Werder Bremen on Friday, where Robert Lewandowski secured victory for Dortmund.

General Manager of Borussia Dortmund, Hans-Joachim Watzke commented: “We are delighted that as a long-term partner Hankook continues the successful cooperation with Borussia Dortmund. Hankook embodies with its quality products exactly what BVB stands (for) also: sportiness, reliability, emotion and success.”

June Hyun Cho, Managing Director of the tire manufacturer for the German-speaking markets added: “Borussia Dortmund has been a real crowd puller and likeable. We are pleased that we can also use as a Champion Partner’s interest in such an eye-catching team for our Hankook future and continue to be part of this emotional and successful team.”

Hankook have been a partner of Borussia since 2009 and has seen the club win the Bundesliga twice, the DFB Cup and finish as runners-up to Bayern Munich in the Champions League in that three-year period.

The deal was completed by SPORTFIVE and comes swiftly after Dortmund released their best-ever financial figures.
