Bollywood star set to buy 50 percent share of I-League club

Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan is is in talks with I-League champions Dempo SC about the prospect of buying a 50 percent stake in the club.

Khan currently owns the recently-crowned IPL champions, Kolkata Knight Riders Khanhas and is now interested in investing in India’s most football successful football club. Khan is reportedly set to pay Rs. 300 Million (approx $US5.5m) for a 50 percent stake in Goa-based Dempo SC .

Dempo’s manager, Armando Colaco, said: “Shah Rukh has shown interest in Dempo.Talks are still going on and it will take some time to finalise the deal. We are still working out how to use Shah Rukh’s image to boost the club. Hopefully we will have a great deal.”

Dempo SC chairman, Srinivas Dempo, has met with Khan several times over the last few days and both sides are hopeful of reaching an agreement.
