BMW Becomes Title Sponsor of Hong Kong Derby

BMW has increased its sponsorship of the Hong Kong Jockey Club (HKJC) and will replace Mercedes-Benz as the title sponsor of the Hong Kong Derby for the next five years.

The Hong Kong Derby is the HKJC’s most lucrative race event and the 2013 edition, which will be held  on  March 17, will offer more than US$2million in prize money.

HKJC CEO, Engelbrecht-Bresges, said BMW and the Derby have strong appeal to customers with a competitive edge and a dynamic lifestyle.

Linus Schmekel, General Manager of BMW Group, Importer Office Hong Kong and Macau, said the HKJC is an excellent partner to work with.

Schmekel said BMW has been the title sponsor of HKJC race the Champions Mile for the last two years and next years BMW Hong Kong Derby represents an important milestone in developing the partnership with the Hong Kong Jockey Club.{jcomments on}
