Blue Apple Training Partner Huddersfield Town to help Unemployed
January 23, 2013
Huddersfield Town Football Club and Blue Apple Training have formed a partnership to provide training to the unemployed in West Yorkshire who are looking for work.
The Leeds based company has over 15 years of experience in the ‘Welfare to Work’ and recruitment sector and hope to achieve their goal by providing free qualifications and specialist support.
Huddersfield Town will be providing facilities such as the Galpharm Stadium and Canalside Sports Complex, illness to deliver the courses.
Huddersfield’s Commercial Director, Sean Jarvis explained: “We’re delighted that Blue Apple Training has signed on as the Club’s latest commercial partner.
“As a Club, one of our main focus areas is around ‘doing the right thing’ and we were delighted that Blue Apple Training shares our vision. We are well aware of Blue Apple Training’s excellent training programmes as they have worked closely with Kirklees College, another valued Club Partner, for some time now and we’re very happy to provide a well-known base and an opportunity for the two organisations to help the unemployed and youths not in education, employment or training to get back on track.
“We cannot afford to lose a generation to a perceived lack of opportunities and I hope we can play our part in getting some of the long term unemployed back into work with the help of Blue Apple Training.
“Both the Stadium and the Club’s training ground, Canalside Sports Complex, are iconic sites in our region and if that can play even a small part in attracting people to their courses, we have achieved our goal of ‘making a difference’.”
John Perrin, one of the Owner Directors of Blue Apple Training outlined the company’s intentions for Huddersfield:
“Our mission statement is to ‘stand out from the crowd’ – and that is exactly what we aim to do. We want to stand out as a training and recruitment organisation and we want those who come on our courses to stand out when they apply for vacancies and attend job interviews.
“We are working with local employers to offer free bespoke recruitment solutions as well as working with the Job Centre Plus and Work Programme providers to help and support the unemployed in and around the Huddersfield area. We work closely with our learners over a four or five week period and so we get to know them, their strengths, their attitude and work ethic and then we can confidently put the right people forward for interview to the employers with whom we work in partnership.”
Mike Gore, Owner Director of Blue Apple Training added: “We are very excited about working with Huddersfield Town to develop a focal point of support for both those who are seeking employment and companies who are seeking to recruit.
“The community ethos which is fostered at Town is one shared by Blue Apple Training and we are proud to become part of the family here in Huddersfield and are ready to help make a difference.”
Anyone attending a Blue Apple Training course will not only receive a nationally recognised qualification, but they will also get preferential access to employers as well as help on creating a professional CV, one-to-one support, a student discount card and help with interview preparation.
