BFS Group Limited Become Sunderland Principal Sponsor

Sunderland AFC have announced that BFS Group Limited will become the team’s principal partner from next season.

BFS Group is the UK operation arm of The Bidvest Group Limited and will replace Invest in Africa as the club’s shirt sponsor.

The Bidvest Group has their headquarters in South Africa and the move is another way for the Black Cats to expand in Africa.

Sunderland CEO Margaret Byrne said: “We are absolutely delighted to be entering into a partnership with The BFS Group and Bidvest.

“Whilst Sunderland will always be a club defined by its proud regional history and heritage, prostate in order for the club to continue to move forward, building our reputation and presence internationally becomes a key focus.

“I am sure this will be a very fruitful partnership for both parties.”

Bidvest’s Brian Joffe, added: “Sunderland AFC is the perfect partner for us in the UK where we deliver food and drink to over 50,000 businesses each week.”

The partnership will see shirt sponsorship, perimeter advertising and local community events in the UK.

Sunderland, who narrowly avoided relegation from the Premier League after a disappointing campaign, have recently announced a partnership with the Nelson Mandela Foundation.
