Bayern Munich Confirm Television Channel

February 24, 2017

German Bundesliga leaders Bayern Munich have confirmed the club will launch its own linear television channel. The new service, titled FC Bayern.tv, will go live on February 27.

Bayern will collaborate with telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom on the 24-hour channel, which will broadcast reports, talk shows, exclusive interviews and live content.

The channel will be accessible in high definition via Deutsche Telekom’s EntertainTV service, and through Bayern’s official club website and smartphone apps.

The channel will be free to all viewers during the first week, but will then cost $6.30 per month. Bayern will be the first German football club to have an official television channel.

The Bundesliga leaders have the second leg of their Champions League knockout round on March 7, having won the first leg 5-1 against English side Arsenal.
