Barcelona President Sandro Rosell to Stand for Re-Election in 2016

April 18, 2013

Barcelona president Sandro Rosell will stand for re-election in 2016, he has confirmed.

Rosell became president of the club in 2010 and has three years to run on his current term, but he has already announced his intention to stand again in 2016.

He told the club’s Senate: “I intend to stand for re-election. I ask you to continue to give me confidence to finish the challenges that we have started.”

Rosell joined the board in 2003 but left in 2005 due to disputes with the then president.

Barcelona have won a host of trophies during Rosell’s time in charge, including the Primera Liga, the Champions League, the Copa del Rey, the Spanish Super Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and the FIFA World Club Cup.
