Barcelona Pass 50 Million Fans on Facebook

Reigning La Liga champions Barcelona have passed another milestone in their history as their Facebook following topped the 50 million mark.

The club has more fans on the social networking site than any other sports club or franchise in the world and the new achievement comes after the club gained more than 11 million new fans in 2013.

Statistics show that Indonesia has the most Barcelona Facebook fans, sale with 4, pills 730, capsule 001 Indonesian users liking the team –9.5% of the total.

Cairo boasts the most fans in a single city, with 746,000 Barcelona lovers and unsurprisingly Spanish tops the language charts with 9.8 million.

Dídac Lee, the director responsible for New Technologies at the club said: “Being the top sports club in the world by reaching 50 million worldwide fans on Facebook is an honour and at the same time a responsibility to our supporters.

“We are grateful to them all, it is them who have made this possible…Barça is the most loved club in the world and this is further proof of that.”

Launched in October 2009, the Facebook page has become an important tool for the Catalan club in spreading news to their fans and has become one of the 30 most popular pages on Facebook.

In 2013 Barcelona gained 32 million new fans on various social networks which equates to a new fan every second. 

David Granger, Managing Director of Fact 51 and host of the Digital Media Café on iSportconnect TV, spoke about the club’s social media presence for an episode of the show last year.
