The iSportconnect Digital Media and Technology Masterclass, in association with Seven League, will be returning to London on 15th April and the agenda and topics for the event have been finalised.

The event will be hosted at the five-star Grange St. Paul’s Hotel.

Formula E Signs up Rightster as Video Partner

Rightster, the cloud-based global video distribution and monetisation network, has signed a deal to become an online video partner of Formula E.

The deal will see Rightster manage Formula E’s YouTube channel with particular focus on channel and rights management, social media amplification, programming support and cross-promotion across the relevant channels in Rightster’s network.

The partnership will aim to attract a younger audience specifically between the ages of 16 and 24.

Patrick Walker, Chief Commercial Officer at Rightster, said: “Rightster has a proven track record in growing YouTube channels globally and we’re thrilled to be chosen as a partner for this exciting new sport.

WSA Finalise Long-Term Agreement with Hallmark Events Group

The Women’s Squash Association (WSA) has secured a major long-term agreement with Hallmark Events Group to stage the Women’s World Squash Championships in 2014, stuff 2015 and 2016.

The 2014 championships this year will be staged from December 12-19 and will be held as the last event of the year on the WSA World Tour in 2015 and 2016 as well.

The championships guarantee a total prize-fund in excess of US$ 500,000.

Total player compensation will rise from US$ 150,000 in 2014, to US$ 175,000 in 2015, before reaching a record US$ 215,000 in 2016.

‘‘We are delighted to have secured the Women’s World Championships for the next three years,’’ said WSA President Kasey Brown.

‘‘The increase in prize money levels is not only fantastic news for the players, but also a prime example of the growth the WSA World Tour is experiencing.’’

Director, Development – USA Volleyball

Overview: 

The Director, stomach Development is a regular full-time position reporting directly to the CEO and works closely with the USA Volleyball Foundation (USAVF) Board of Directors.  The incumbent works jointly with the USAVF Chair in carrying out the Foundation mission. In addition, anesthetist the position is responsible for: leading philanthropic gifting for USA Volleyball; creating and delivering a comprehensive successful Development strategic plan; launching new fundraising events, programs, and campaigns and increasing engagement with current members, alumni, donors, and fans. The position is located in the Greater LA area. Extensive hours may be required to include, nights and weekends. Moderate travel is necessary.

Summary of Duties and Responsibilities include but are not necessarily limited to:

•     Direct the development initiative to achieve sustainable increases in donor participation, philanthropic support, and gifting

•     Establish the Gift Operating Plan, including a compelling  case for support and short- and long-term goals in alignment with the mission and strategy of USAVF

•     Oversee the creation and execution of development programs

•     Lead research, cultivation, and stewardship of major gifts via broad-based solicitation activities

•     Measure, monitor, and track outcomes using appropriate criteria to produce accurate budget preparations and project fundraising activities

•     Liaise with the United States Olympic Committee (USOC) to ensure consistent alignment with and in movement messaging

•     Drive fundraising initiatives in partnership with USAVF Board Members

•     Generate Development content for both internal and external audiences across various platforms

•     Research corporate grant agencies and foundations to identify development best practices and prospective funding partnerships

•     Manage the acknowledgment process, recognition programs, and donor database

•     Serve as an ambassador for USAV sharing and conveying the Organization / sport’s story

•    Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications

•     Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree or Certified Fund Raising Executive (CFRE) preferred

•     Minimum of seven (7) years of fundraising or equivalent experience with demonstrated success in donor cultivation, solicitation and maintaining relationships with individuals, foundations, and corporations

•     Experience engaging a leadership team, coordinating with staff, and working with Boards and volunteers

•     Solid knowledge of fundraising and foundation management Best Practices and ethics

•     Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

•     Self-starter who can formulate strategy and execute independently

•     Ability to prioritize and manage a number of different projects simultaneously

•     Excellent research and organizational skills 

•     Proficiency in Microsoft Word Suite, database and fundraising software applications

•    Must be able to successfully pass a USAV background screening

Bayern sign deal with EA Sports

Video game developer EA Sports has entered into a global partnership with German club Bayern Munich.

The deal will focus on the promotion of EA Sports’ Fifa 17 game, sale which is scheduled for release on September 27th.

It will mean Fifa 17 gaming pods will be placed around Bayern’s Allianz Arena, while fan and player content will be showcased on the club’s and EA Sports’ digital platforms. Fifa 17 tournaments and events will also be organised.

In addition, EA Sports will further enhance the appearance of select Bayern players and the Allianz Arena for Fifa 17.

“We realise gaming is a powerful tool for reaching millions of engaged fans around the world,” Bayern chief executive Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said. “We also know the size of the gaming community continues to rise. Therefore our partnership with EA Sports is a very important step for our future. Barcelona sign global partnership with Konami

FC Barcelona and KONAMI have signed a global agreement which will see the creator of the Pro Evolution Soccer video game series becomes a Premium Partner of the Club for the next three seasons.

This deal will see KONAMI launch a special Barça edition that will be released alongside the European version of PES 2017 when it launches on September 15th, shop 2016.

Barça and KONAMI will be collaborating in different areas.

The digital entertainment company will be advertising both inside and outside Camp Nou, cough and will also be visible on the backdrops of press conferences at the Club.

KONAMI will also have access to the players and will have visible presence on match days. It also gains exclusive rights to recreate the Barça stadium in PES 2017.

Optus Announce Premier League and World Cup Coverage for Austrailia

Optus will sub-licence exclusive free-to-air TV rights of one English Premier League match per round to SBS for the next three seasons until 2018-2019.

In an announcement today they also revealed SBS will sub-licence the World Cup rights to the pay-TV provider, allowing Optus to broadcast all 64 games of the men’s World Cup live, as well as the 2017 Fifa Confederations Cup and the 2019 Fifa Women’s World Cup.

Sepp Blatter At FIFA Congress: “I Will Not Quit”

FIFA President Sepp Blatter addressed the FIFA Congress, impotent one day before the election taking place in Zurich, seek assuring that he is not to blame and that he will not step down from his role, pharm after UEFA President Michel Platini, amongst others, called for his resignation.

“I must stress that those who are corrupt in football are in a thin minority, like in society. But, like in society, they must be caught and held responsible for their actions.

“Football cannot be the exception to the rule. That is our responsibility as FIFA and we will co-operate with all authorities to make sure than anyone involved in wrongdoing, from top to bottom, is discovered and punished.

“There can be no place for corruption of any kind. The next few months will not be easy for FIFA. I’m sure more bad news may follow. But it is necessary to begin to restore trust in our organisation.

“Let this be the turning point. More needs to be done to make sure everyone in football to make sure everyone behaves responsibility and ethically, and everywhere also outside of the field of play, where there is no referee, no boundaries and no time limit.

“Football, the fans, the players, the clubs, the world, deserves so much more and we must respond.

“Tomorrow, the congress, we have the opportunity to begin on what will be a long and difficult road to rebuilding trust.”

The 79-year old is likely to be re-elected for another four-year term tomorrow.

Marius Vizer has been re-elected as the President of SportAccord by a unanimous vote after running unopposed for the role.

This is Vizer’s first full 4-year term as SportAccord President, capsule having been elected to the post for the first time in 2013 for a 2-year term.
