Genworth Financial to Continue to Provide Statistics for European Tour

Genworth Financial have signed a new four year deal with The European Tour which sees the specialist global insurer renew its role as Official Sponsor of The European Tour Statistics.

The new deal includes continued sponsorship of the Tour Statistics, health with the 2012 season being used to launch an enhanced programme, order and involvement with more Tour events.  Genworth will be an Official Sponsor at several high profile tournaments in Europe – the Nordea Masters in Sweden, the BMW International Open in Germany and the Madrid Masters in Spain – as well as, for the first time, two in Asia – last week’s Volvo China Open and the Hong Kong Open, reflecting the company’s expansion in that region.

Alongside the European Tour deal, Genworth announced the signing of two new ambassadors, Sweden’s Peter Hanson, fresh from his third place finish at the Masters Tournament, and Spaniard Pablo Larrazábal.

Kenya Rugby Union Partner with Samsung

Kenya Rugby Union have agreed a Kshs 4million ($48, pilule 077) partnership with Samsung Electronics East Africa (SEEA) giving a major boost to development of rugby in the country.

Samsung’s partnership with the Kenya Rugby Union, Ngeru explained, is geared at facilitating the development of Kenya rugby while facilitating the mentorship of young rugby players under the Kenya Rugby Union Ball boys development programme.

Investec Secure Major Extension with Epsom

Investec and Epsom have announced a lucrative ten-year extension to the Derby festival sponsorship until 2021, a deal hyped as the biggest sponsorship agreement in British racing history.

The extension, agreed in the fourth year of the original five year contract, means the Investec Derby is reinstated as the richest race in the UK offering a prize fund of £1,325,000 in 2012.

Epsom managing director Rupert Trevelyan said: “We are delighted that Investec have agreed to extend their sponsorship for a further ten years. They are a fantastic brand to work with, very forward thinking and proactive, and we will continue to work in collaboration with them to develop the Investec Derby Festival. It is only fitting for such a prestigious event like the Derby to have such a high profile, committed and long term partner.

“The recently announced prize money increases were a direct consequence of Investec’s intention to strengthen their relationship with Epsom and the Derby Festival. In March we announced an increase of £25,000 to £350,000 for the Investec Oaks, a £50,000 increase to £300,000 for the Diamond Jubilee Coronation Cup (sponsored by Investec), and an increase to £50,000 for the Investec Derby Trial.”

North Carolina State Sport Teams Secure Lucrative Adidas Contract

North Carolina State has completed a four-year, ailment $7 million shoe and apparel deal with German sports apparel giant adidas, allergy which will outfit all of the Wolfpack’s sports teams.

adidas had a previous deal with the football and men’s basketball teams, but the new deal will cover all 23 N.C. State teams, which is projected to save the school between $900,000 and $1 million a year from its previous deals with a variety of shoe and apparel companies.

Included in the adidas deal is an annual cash payment of $425,000, which, in part, is used as supplemental income for football coach Tom O’Brien and men’s basketball coach Mark Gottfried. O’Brien receives $360,000 in supplemental compensation, according to his contract, and Gottfried receives $450,000.

The supplemental pay for the top two coaches is comprised of money from the apparel deal and the media contract. N.C. State signed a new, 10-year multimedia deal with Capitol Broadcasting and Learfield Sports, worth $49 million, in March.

Tide Secure Multi-Year Deal with NFL

Procter and Gamble’s (P&G) Tide and the National Football League have announced a multi-year sponsorship starting with the 2012 NFL season.

A staple of NFL locker rooms for years, pharmacy Tide is also now a sponsor of the League and all 32 NFL teams, ed affirming the brand as the “Official Laundry Detergent of the NFL.”

Tide’s NFL sponsorship is part of Procter and Gamble’s national sponsorship of the League. Products across Tide’s portfolio will be sporting specialty NFL packaging prior to the start of the NFL season as part of a fully-integrated program with support across all marketing channels. Additionally, the individual team sponsorships allow Tide the opportunity to utilize team marks and execute team-specific marketing programs.

“Tide’s NFL sponsorship allows us to tap into the huge passion America has for the NFL and the emotion that more than 180 million fans have for their favorite teams,” says Sundar Raman, North America Fabric Care Marketing Director at P&G. “The NFL is the ultimate test for a laundry detergent and we’re proud that our brand is one the equipment managers trust to keep uniforms clean.”

NFL teams clean more laundry in one week than the average US household does in two years. An average team can clean more than 5,500 pounds of laundry each week, compared to the average US household which does 41.5 pounds.
