Chevrolet to Become Manchester United’s New Shirt Sponsor

General Motors brand Chevrolet has agreed to become Manchester United’s new shirt sponsor beginning with the 2014/2015 season.

Chevrolet, the current Official Car Partner of the Club, will become only the fifth shirt sponsor in the Club’s 134 year history.

Manchester United’s Commercial Director, Richard Arnold, said: “This is a fantastic, long-term deal for the Club. We have been partners with Chevrolet for only six weeks, but already they have produced some fantastic ideas that will benefit both the partnership and our 659 million followers around the world.  They are a key partner on our current tour and I know they have enjoyed experiencing the buzz generated by our fanatical support and the sell-out crowds in South Africa, China, and Europe.

“It is a great thrill for those of us who work with partners all year round when an existing partner steps up to being one of our principal partners. This commitment to United and its fans will bring real benefits to everyone who cares about the Club.”

The US-based car company will replace Aon, whose partnership with United began in the 2010/11 season.

Stuart Broad Agrees Endorsement Deal with Investec

Investec, ed a specialist bank and asset manager has named England cricketer Stuart Broad as its brand ambassador where he will work as figurehead for Investec’s cricket activity.

Investec recently signed the longest sponsorship deal in the England and Wales Cricket Board’s history including tours up to 2019 and this just adds to their commitment to English cricket.

Raymond van Niekerk, global marketing director of Investec, commented: “One of the many draws of Test cricket for us was the admirable qualities of the players themselves and Stuart epitomises the modern day test match cricketer.

“He is intelligent, athletic, competitive and carries many skills which allow him to change the game whether with bat, ball or in the field. Enovos Drop Sponsorship of Pro-Cycling Team RadioShack-Nissan

Pro-Cycling team RadioShack-Nissan were hit with a blow today as Luxembourg-based energy company Enovos cancelled its sponsorship deal with the team. 

The company came on board, malady amid much fanfare, adiposity in February of last year, when the team was called Leopard Trek, but has declared itself dissatisfied with the current season, since the merger with RadioShack.

Last season was a successful one for Leopard Trek, with the pick of the results being Andy and Fränk Schleck’s second and third places in the Tour de France; it has been events off the bike this year however, as internal wrangling between riders and management, reports of non-payment of salaries, and team manager Johan Bruyneel the subject of charges from the United States Anti-Doping Agency (USADA) over alleged doping practices during his years working with Lance Armstrong.

“As part of its partnership with the Luxembourg cycling team Leopard Trek, then RadioShack-Nissan-Trek, Enovos wishes to express its satisfaction with the way things went in 2011,” reads a press release from the company. “It transpired that with the sponsorship of the Leopard Trek team in 2011 gave a very satisfactory level visibility, branding and communications for the Group Enovos. Additionally, results were at the level expected.

“Unfortunately, the 2012 season has not brought the desired results,” it continues. “Considering only the sporting angle, this is part of the risk of sponsorship. However, the image that the RadioShack-Nissan-Trek team has given this year is by no means in line with the image that Enovos wants to communicate. There have been too many negatives have since the beginning of the year. Finally the withdrawal of Fränk Schleck from the 2012 Tour de France, following an abnormal result of a doping control, led Enovos to reconsider its partnership with RadioShack-Nissan-Trek.

“Therefore, the sponsorship agreement is terminated by Enovos with effect from 1 August 2012,” it concludes. “Enovos strongly deplores the events of recent months. However, as a socially responsible company, Enovos does not wish to continue this partnership, as the values ??representing the image of Enovos are not compatible with the affairs developing around RadioShack-Nissan-Trek.”

While Enovos is a relatively minor sponsor of the Luxembourg-registered team, following reports of various financial issues, the withdrawal of its funding will be far from welcome. 

South Africa’s Premier Soccer League Agree Late Sponsorship Extension with MTN

The Premier Soccer League (PSL) and South African cellular giant MTN have reportedly renewed their sponsorship deal, just days before the start of the Top-8.

The cellular provider has been one of the PSL’s four major sponsors over the past four years, with the season-opening tournament having flown under the banner of the MTN8. 

That original deal was set to expire on 31 July, but the PSL have agreed an 11th hour agreement with the company, who will continue to work in tandem with the footballing body. 

However, the PSL are still facing a huge financial blow as their title sponsor Absa are yet to agree a new deal, with the current agreement also expiring on Tuesday. 

PSL chairperson Dr Irvin Khoza, though, is believed to be thrashing out a deal with the financial service provider and is hopeful of reaching an agreement before the start of the new season on August 12. 

The 2012 MTN8 kicks off on Friday night, with defending champions Orlando Pirates taking on Bloemfontein Celtic.

Rugby’s Super League Search for New Title Sponsor after Stobart Withdrawal

The Super League, allergy Rugby League’s flagship competition have begun their search for a new title sponsor from the 2013 season onwards after the Stobart Group decided against renewing their sponsorship.

Since entering into an innovative partnership for 2012, store the Stobart Super League has increased its TV audience by 45 per cent and experienced record attendances to elevate the sport’s profile to unprecedented levels.

That success has put Super League in a prime position to increase commercial revenues and accelerate its development under a new title sponsor from the 2013 season onwards.

“With a combined TV audience of over 25 million, drugs huge attendance levels and a national and international expansion the sport is well-placed for an exciting future”.

Super League (Europe) and the Stobart Group have mutually agreed to end a collaboration which has grown TV audiences on Sky Sports to record levels in a season which is set to see aggregate attendances break the two million mark for the first time in history.

The decision to end the partnership was based on Super League having achieved its target of increased visibility and profile and the need to realise the next objective of monetising the competition’s title sponsorship.

Stobart Group Chief Executive Andrew Tinkler said: “Stobart Group is pleased to have contributed to the promotion and success of the Super League in 2012, with a 45 per cent increase in television audiences.

“The plan was always to review the partnership after the first year and we’ve decided to step back and allow the RFL to work with commercial partners that can offer the financial support it needs to further develop.

“As such both parties have mutually agreed to end the collaboration at the close of the season.”

Bharti Airtel to Sponsor Mercedes AMG F1 Team at 2012 Indian Grand Prix

The Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula One Team has announced a race partnership agreement with Bharti Airtel for the 2012 Airtel Indian Grand Prix. 

The leading integrated telecommunications company was title sponsor of the inaugural race at the Buddh International Circuit in New Delhi in October 2011, sale and will continue the role this year.

Airtel branding will feature on the airbox and headrest of the Mercedes AMG F1 W03 car, and on the racesuits and helmets of Michael Schumacher and Nico Rosberg, for the duration of the 2012 Airtel Indian Grand Prix weekend.
Bharti Airtel will use the association with Mercedes AMG Petronas to further promote Formula One within India, with a host of innovative content and experiences planned both before and during the 2012 Airtel Indian Grand Prix. Michael and Nico will also feature in a television campaign in India to promote the race and Bharti Airtel’s involvement.

Willowton Group Renew Sponsorship of Cricket South Africa

Cricket South Africa (CSA) has announced that the Willowton Group would be extending its sponsorship of the Proteas’ Castle Lager squad’s home Test matches for a period of four years through their Sunfoil brand.

This follows their sponsorship of the Proteas’ home Test matches and ODI’s during the past season and the new deal will also include sponsorship of the four-day domestic competition.

In making the announcement CSA’s Acting CEO, viagra 100mg Jacques Faul, thanked SuperSport for its support of South African domestic cricket for the past 17 years. SuperSport will remain the CSA’s broadcasting partner.

SuperSport were the previous sponsors of the domestic four-day competition with this partnership having commenced during the 1995/1996 domestic cricket seasons.

CSA is now looking forward to the latest long-term deal with the Willowton Group, Sport24 reports.

CCM to Title Sponsor USA Hockey All-American Game

USA Hockey announced on that CCM would be the title sponsor of the inaugural CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, scheduled for Sept. 29 at First Niagara Center in Buffalo.

The event will include 40 of the top American-born prospects eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft.

Prospects will come from the United States Hockey League, which includes the U.S. National Team Development Program, as well as the Canadian Hockey League, U.S. high/prep schools, and U.S. college programs. USA Hockey expects to announce the 40 participating players for the game next month. Under the current structure, players born between Jan. 1, 1993 and Sept. 15, 1995, are eligible for the 2013 NHL Draft.

Dave Ogrean, executive director of USA Hockey, said: “It’s terrific to have an iconic brand like CCM as the title sponsor of this event. It will be a real treat for hockey fans to have a chance to see the best players in their age group showcase their skills in a competitive environment.”

Das private Glücksspielunternehmen folgt auf Wettbewerber Bet 3000. Es ist nicht der einzige neue Werbepartner der Schwaben.

Blickt man auf die Sponsorenpyramide des VfB Stuttgart, arthritis so sind dort seit ein paar Tagen neue Logos zu sehen – unter anderem auch das Emblem des privaten Glücksspielanbieters Interwetten. Offiziell kommuniziert wurde dazu nichts – weder vonseiten des Fußballbundesligisten noch vom neuen Sponsor selbst.

Wie SPONSORs nun erfuhr, soll Interwetten einen Dreijahresvertrag mit dem Club abgeschlossen haben, der zudem eine Verlängerungsoption beinhaltet. Als Premium Partner dürfte das private Glücksspielunternehmen mit Hauptsitz in Malta umfangreiche Werbeleistungen erhalten, unter anderem auf der TV-relevanten LED-Bande in der Mercedes-Benz Arena sowie auf verschiedenen weiteren Werbemitteln des VfB. Das Paket dürfte einen jährlichen Wert von knapp unter 500 000 Euro haben.

Interwetten, das unter anderem auch umfangreich beim spanischen Fußballerstligisten FC Sevilla sowie beim italienischen Serie-A-Club Udinese Calcio wirbt und zudem ein eigenes „Interwetten Moto2 Team“ unterhält, folgt bei den Stuttgartern auf Bet 3000. Der private Glücksspielanbieter war erst zur Rückrunde der vergangenen Saison als Team Partner (4. Ebene) der Schwaben eingestiegen. Der Vertrag lief allerdings lediglich bis Ende der abgelaufenen Saison und wurde nicht mehr verlängert.

Es ist nicht das erste Mal, dass Bet 3000 in der Bundesliga von einem Wettbewerber verdrängt wurde. Auch bei Bayer 04 Leverkusen wurde der private Wettenanbieter aus Malta zur anstehenden Saison ersetzt, in Leverkusen durch Wettbewerber Betfair, der beim Werksclub einen Zweijahresvertrag mit zusätzlicher Option abgeschlossen und zudem Bayer-04-Sportdirektor Rudi Völler als Werbebotschafter verpflichtet hatte.
