Alert Energy Caffeine Gum to Sponsor Joe Gibbs Racing at Kansas Speedway

Wrigley’s new Alert Energy Caffeine Gum is set to enter the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with Joe Gibbs Racing and driver Elliott Sadler on April 21 at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, ailment Kan.

Sadler will pilot the No. 81 Alert Energy Camry there and at Talladega (Ala.) Superspeedway (May 5 and Oct. 20) for a total of three races during the 2013 race season.

The No. 81 Alert Energy Camry joins an all-star lineup of Mars, and Inc. and Wrigley sponsors at Joe Gibbs Racing including Doublemint gum, clinic M&M’S and SNICKERS throughout the 2013 season.

Adam Scott to Endorse Japanese Brand UNIQLO

World top ten Australian golfer Adam Scott has inked a multi-year contract with leading global Japanese retailer, UNIQLO.

This marks the first time for UNIQLO to partner with a professional golfer. Under the partnership agreement, Adam Scott will wear UNIQLO apparel in all competitions, including the upcoming 2013 Masters Golf Tournament on April 11 in Augusta, Georgia. He will also take part in a range of promotional activities for the company, including a UNIQLO global polo shirt campaign to be launched in mid-April.

ChyronHego Becomes Data Partner for Bundesliga

ChyronHego has announced that the Deutsche Fussball Liga (DFL) has selected ChyronHego to provide real-time digital sports data for the Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2’s live sporting broadcasts.

ChyronHego’s acclaimed TRACAB system will be used to collect player and ball statistics in unprecedented detail for the span of the four year contract, valid until the close of the 2016/17 season.

Opta Sport will be supplying match-specific statistics such as goals, assists, and throw-ins, etc. Hego will be collecting player/ball-specific data such as positional data, distance covered, and speeds.

The underlying aim of the contract is to support German professional clubs in their efforts to optimise sporting performance through state-of-the-art analytical methodologies and technology. The volume and depth of data to be provided will be the most comprehensive of any such contract in the professional game worldwide, and the package will make additional data and video-based material available to the clubs at no extra cost.

In addition to supplying data to the league, the agreement also gives ChyronHego and Opta the rights to market the official Bundesliga and Bundesliga 2 data to the media, betting agencies, clubs, and league associations.

Compassion Internationa to Sponsor Nascar Driver Blake Koch

Compassion International has partnered with NASCAR Nationwide Series driver Blake Koch and SR2 Motorsports.

Compassion will be the primary sponsor of Koch’s No. 24 Toyota Camry in this Friday’s O’Reilly Auto Parts 300 at Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth, anesthetist Texas.

To promote the partnership, check Compassion International has launched compassionracing.com to raise awareness of the needs of children living in poverty around the world and to help find sponsors for those children. Koch’s goal is to get 2,400 children sponsored through his partnership with Compassion.

Werner Remains Official Ladder of NCAA Division I Women’s Basketball Championship

Middlesex County Cricket Club has announced today that mobile technology provider yo2mo, will sponsor Middlesex’s Yorkshire Bank 40 and Friends Life t20 playing shirts for the 2013 and 2014 season.

The new deal with US based yo2mo will see Middlesex’s one-day playing shirts sporting the company’s logo on the non-leading arm slot as well as on all replica playing shirts sold through the club.

Choice Hotels Secures Naming Rights to Australia’s PGA Pro-Am Series

The PGA of Australia has announced Choice Hotels as the naming rights partner of the PGA Pro-Am Series.

The national sponsorship is a first for Australian golf and is expected to deliver a number of benefits for participants as well as Choice Hotels and the PGA.

Choice Hotels Chief Executive Officer Trent Fraser said he is delighted to announce the 2013 Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series partnership with the PGA.

“The sports market is an important part of our overall business mix and golf plays a very important role in this, mind ” said Fraser.

“We have a number of well located properties within close proximity to many of the wonderful golf courses around Australia and we are looking forward to hosting the PGA Professionals, staff and members as they traverse the country in search of that perfect round.”

The Choice Hotels PGA Pro-Am Series will encompass all pro-am events held across Australia from 1 April to 31 December 2013 in a united Series that will comprise of 200 events played at more than 160 courses.

Brazil’s Ronaldo Joins PokerStars as Ambassador

Former Brazilian football star Ronaldo is the latest athlete to become a member of Team PokerStars SportStar, the online poker site announced on Thursday.

The man best known simply as “Ronaldo” joins an impressive group of sports stars including Rafael Nadal, Boris Becker, and Fatima Moreira De Melo.

Ronaldo is widely considered one of football’s all-time greats, earning numerous awards during his 19-year pro career. He played in 98 international matches for his native Brazil, scoring 62 goals and is the all-time leading goal scorer in the history of the World Cup (15 goals). He played a major role on the Brazilian national team that won the World Cup in 2002.

Since retiring from soccer in 2011, Ronaldo launched a company called 9ine, which is now one of the top sports and entertainment agencies in Brazil. He made the jump into poker last year by signing Team PokerStars Pro Brazil member Andre Akkari. As the first poker player to be signed by the sports agency, Akkari’s reps are responsible for managing his image, brand planning, sponsorship, and more.
