ATP World Tour Finals to Stay in London Until 2018

November 13, 2015

The ATP has confirmed that London will remain the host city for the World Tour Finals until 2018 in a renewed deal.

The announcement was made at the launch of the 2015 ATP World Tour Finals in London featuring the world’s top eight players.

ATP Executive Chairman and President Chris Kermode said: “We are delighted to have reached an agreement which will see the tournament celebrate its 10th successive year in London in 2018.

“The tournament has been a spectacular success since moving to The O2 in 2009, generating record crowds, incredible atmospheres, and a soaring worldwide TV audience which broke the 100 million mark for the first time last year.

“The O2 has enabled us to present the sport in a new and vibrant way, in a media-friendly time zone, and in one of the world’s greatest cities.

“For us, there is currently no better place to stage our season-ending event.”

London has been the home of the ATP’s prestigious end of year men’s tournament since 2009. In 2014, the tournament set an all-time attendance record of 263,560, the most in the 45-year history of the tournament.

The contract with London was due to expire this year, but the ATP has made the decision to keep the tournament in the English capital despite strong interest from other major cities around the world to host the event.
