Aston Villa announce new Chief Executive

Aston Villa Football Club have announced the appointment of Keith Wyness as Chief Executive.

The 58-year-old brings has previously held the same position at English Premier League Club Everton and Scottish Premier League Club Aberdeen.

It follows the arrival of new Owner Dr Tony Xia and Manager Roberto Di Matteo.

Keith said: “My experience tells me that there are many serious issues that need to be addressed and I will be doing everything to support Roberto and his team to achieve success on the pitch as quickly as we can.

“I understand the tough challenge the Championship presents and I will do all I can to bring a strong platform behind the scenes to help in that battle.

“I will bring clear leadership to the other areas of the Club as we seek to rebuild it in a new era and become leaders again in many areas.

“I hope that under the ambition and guidance of the Chairman the fans will see progress with deeds and not just words.”
