America’s Cup Begins with New Beer Sponsor

July 4, 2013

With the America’s Cup set to sail, Italy’s No. 1 premium beer Peroni Nastro Azzurro has announced it will be the Official Beer of the sailing competition.

This partnership aligns the iconic Italian lager with one of sailing’s most prestigious international competitions. Fans of the America’s Cup will be able to enjoy a crisp, refreshing Peroni at the America’s Cup Park and America’s Cup Village as they watch the best sailors in the world take on sailing’s pinnacle event.

Peroni Nastro Azzurro will be available at the America’s Cup Sports Bar and concessions throughout the America’s Cup Park, at Piers 27/29. At the America’s Cup Village, at Marina Green, the beer garden will serve Peroni Nastro Azzurro.

“The America’s Cup and its athletes represent the gold standard in racing,” said Ryan Verschoor, U.S. Brand Director of Peroni Nastro Azzurro. “The Louis Vuitton Cup and the America’s Cup Finals are world-class events that serve as symbols of quality and distinction, and Peroni Nastro Azzurro is proud to share and celebrate these values as ‘The Official Beer of the America’s Cup.’”

America’s Cup begins today when the America’s Cup Park, at Piers 27/29, opens its doors at noon, with an opening ceremony – a ticketed event at the AC Pavilion within the Park – starting at 3:00pm. Fans at the America’s Cup Village can enjoy the ceremony via big screens.

“We welcome America’s Cup fans to come down to the America’s Cup Park and America’s Cup Village to toast their favorite teams with a Peroni,” said Stephen Barclay, CEO of the America’s Cup.
