Team Pro-Motion Sportbike Club has announced their 2012 sponsorship of AMA Pro Supersport racer, No. 21 Elena Meyers.

From Discovery Bay, Calif., Elena Meyers is the first woman to win an AMA Pro race, taking the checkered flag at Infineon Raceway as a 16-year-old rookie in 2010. In the 2011 season, Elena finished fifth AMA Pro SuperSport West division, with five finishes in the top five, overall. Now 18, this year will be her 3rd season as a professional racer with backing from Team Pro-Motion. Team Pro-Motion is again backing Elena’s Suzuki race team; in turn, Elena will be running Team Pro-Motion decals on the livery for her 2012 Suzuki GSXR 600, and may ride and coach at select Team Pro-Motion events.

“It’s the third year working with Glen and Team Pro-Motion,” gushes Myers. “Being backed by them is super cool and I really appreciate their support! They run a great trackday program; I’m really excited to be representing them this year. I’m looking forward to a good season and representing them well!

Glen Goldman, Team Pro-Motion’s president, added: “I’m proud to support Elena and it is exciting for me to see her progress as a racer. She is such an inspiration to young girls and women, including my daughter, Izzi, who hopes to follow in her footsteps one day. Elena is such a tremendous ambassador for our sport and we’re looking forward to a fantastic year with her!”
