Al Jazeera Sport Acquires Premier League Media Rights for Middle East & North Africa

Al Jazeera Sport has concluded an agreement with MP & Silva to acquire the media rights to the Premier League in the Middle East and North Africa.

The three-year deal will begin from next month with the start of the 2013/14 season and Al Jazeera Sport will have the rights to 380 Premier League matches across all media platforms and devices in the MENA region.

Commenting on the new agreement, ed Mr. Nasser Al Khelaifi, cialis Chairman said: “We are extremely excited by the addition of the Barclays Premier League for the next three year cycle, the value that this can add to our customer proposition and extending further our portfolio of top European football.”

Premier League Chief Executive, Mr. Richard Scudamore added: “We are extremely pleased to welcome Al Jazeera Sport as a new partner in Middle East North Africa.

“We look forward to working with them and are confident they will broadcast the Barclays Premier League in a comprehensive and innovative manner to our fans in the region.”

Ayman Jada and Mohammed Saadon Al Kuwari will present the Arabic coverage of the Barclays Premier League while the English studios will feature Richard Keys and Andy Gray.

The 23 countries that are included in the deal are; Algeria, Bahrain, Chad, Egypt, Djibouti, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Mauritania, Morocco, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Tunisia, United Arab Emirates and Yemen.
