Aggreko Becomes Official Supporter of Glasgow 2014

Temporary power specialist Aggreko has been announced as the Official Supporter of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games. 

As part of the deal, the Glasgow-based firm will provide temporary power across the Games’ 13 sports venues and the Athletes Village.

This will be supplied via 103 individual generator sets connected through a network of more than 1,000 distribution boards and 200 kilometres of cabling. The system will be will be supported 24/7 by a dedicated team of engineers and technicians.

The temporary power systems supplied by Aggreko will form an integral part of the Commonwealth Games sustainability planning by utilising existing venues and providing all additional power requirements through temporary infrastructure.

The company was the official Temporary Energy Services Supplier to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Recent customers also include the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games and the Vancouver 2010 Olympic Winter Games.
