Africa’s Greatest Manager Confirms for Soccerex Seminar Lagos

Le Roy will take part in an exclusive one-to-one session discussing his past coaching roles and what the future holds for African football.

Le Roy has a vast amount of experience in African football having coached Cameroon on two separate occasions, Senegal, Ghana and DR Congo. Whilst managing Cameroon he achieved his greatest success by guiding ‘The Indomitable Lions’ to runners-up in the 1986 African Cup of Nations before winning the tournament in 1988. He took over Ghana in 2006 and led the ‘Black Stars’ to 14th in the FIFA World Rankings, their highest ever position. Away from African football management Le Roy has held senior positions in top European clubs including football adviser at AC Milan in 1996 and Director of Football at Paris Saint-Germain 1997-98.

Speaking about his one to one session, Claude Le Roy said: “African football has been extremely pivotal in my life. My career has taken me all over Africa and shown me the passion that African fans have for the game. I am looking forward to attending the Soccerex Seminar Lagos and speaking on the successes and challenges I faced.”
