Addidas Lose their Global Olympic Games Director to Ralph Lauren

August 16, 2011

Erica Kerner, Global Olympic Games director and head of London 2012 for Adidas is heading for a new job as the Vice President – Marketing for Polo Ralph Lauren for Asia Pacific based in Hong Kong.

Erica joined Adidas in August 2004 and was the most influential figure behind Adidas’s presence and activation around the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games.

Before Adidas she spent ten years at Nike – in her last role as director of International Marketing for Nike Retail, she was a member of the team that briefed, designed and eventually created the Oxford Circus Nike-town Store.

With adidas strengthening its Olympic links and signing a broader agreement with London 2012, according to the company, Erica was the natural choice to head the project as Global Olympic Games director with her vast experience and leaves the project in a favourable and healthy position.

Erica has been working closely with Stella McCartney as adidas’ creative director for Team GB, developing solid strategic platforms with the BOA, BPA, GLA and also with LOCOG and the IOC positioning Adidas as a leading partner of the London 2012 Games.
