September 4, 2014
ABT Sportsline has signed three new partners for its bow into the Formula E Championship, cure which begins later this month.
Deutsche Post, pharmacy DHL eCommerce and the Warsteiner Brewery will support the German outfit in the new racing series for electric vehicles.
Deutsche Post and DHL are already well known to ABT Sportsline. “It’s great that, story following partnerships in the DTM, in GT projects and with Daniel Abt in the GP2 Series, we’re now jointly tackling the Formula E adventure as well,” says Team Director Hans-Jürgen Abt. “We know about the passion with which Deutsche Post and DHL are going to approach and animate this new commitment. We’re all looking forward to this.”
Whereas Deutsche Post is featured with lettering and the E-Post logo on the car of Daniel Abt, his team-mate Lucas di Grassi runs with the DHL eCommerce logo emblazoned on his car.
“The commitment makes sense for Deutsche Post DHL from a variety of reasons: As the first racing series for electric vehicles Formula E superbly corresponds with our claim to innovation and underlines our environmental awareness which, among other things, is manifested in our GoGreen programme,” says Thomas Kipp, CEO DHL eCommerce. “At the same time, with Formula E, our brands are present in highly interesting markets. We’ve known the team and Daniel Abt from other commitments as very successful and professional partners. We’re convinced that they’re all going to play an outstanding part.”
The Warsteiner Brewery is now starting to be prominently featured on the upper front of the two Formula E cars. “With our sponsoring commitment to the innovative Formula E team of ABT Sportsline we tie in with our past motorsport activities in Formula One, the DTM and rallying,” says Martin Hötzel, Vice President Marketing & Sales Warsteiner International. “In the young racer Daniel Abt Warsteiner has again found an ideal protagonist for its calling ‘Do it right’. We wish him and his team a lot of success in the first Formula E season on an international stage.”
“Together with Deutsche Post and DHL we also warmly welcome Warsteiner to our Formula E family,” says ABT Head of Marketing Harry Unflath, who is responsible for all partnerships. “With its impressive history, great products and worldwide activities the family-owned company numbers among Germany’s most renowned and personable beer brands. We’re proud about entering a new motorsport era together with the Warsteiner slogan ‘Do it right.”
