August 14, 2013

Canadian broadcasters Sportsnet and TVA Sport will air daily highlights from the 2013 IPC Swimming World Championships, which take place in Montreal from 12-18 August.

Sportsnet One will show 30-minutes of Canada’s best displays in the pool at 11:00pm EST from 13-19 August. Former Paralympic swimming champion, Stephanie Dixon will front the coverage and interview key athletes.

TVA Sport will broadcast a daily show in French, which will air at 10:00am and be repeated at 2:30pm from 13-19 August.

Martin Richard, Executive Director, Communications and Marketing for the Canadian Paralympic Committee (CPC), said: “We are thrilled to be partnering with Sportsnet and TVA sport for domestic broadcast of the IPC Swimming World Championships.

“Canada has a proud tradition in the pool and this will be the first time that these championships are presented in North-America, and through a domestic broadcaster.  Showcasing our Canadian para-athletes competing at world-class events to Canadians on various media platforms is part of CPC’s strategy to increase ongoing awareness of the Paralympic Brand.”

A live stream of all finals sessions will also be available on www.paralympicsport.tv.
