Wells Fargo Scores Mexican National Team Sponsorship

August 14, 2013

Wells Fargo has today announced its sponsorship of the Mexican national football team for its annual tour of the U.S.

The news cements the bank’s association with the sport, following the recent announcement of its sponsorship of Major League Soccer (MLS).

The Mexican team’s tour begins today at the MetLife Stadium in New Jersey against Ivory Coast. The team and Wells Fargo will collaborate on philanthropic and community programs during the tour.

Jamie Moldafsky, Wells Fargo Chief Marketing Officer, said: “Soccer is a growing sport in the U.S., with a dedicated fan base, and Wells Fargo is proud to support MLS, the Mexican National Team and the ‘beautiful game’ of soccer.

“We believe this is an incredible opportunity to connect with local communities and soccer fans across the country to share Wells Fargo’s passion for their financial success, as well as the sport of soccer.”

Justino Compean, president of the Federacion Mexicana de Futbol, the Mexican soccer Federation, added: “We welcome and thank Wells Fargo for their support of the tour which allows ‘el Tricolor’ to visit all of its fans across the United States annually.”
