Real Madrid, World’s Most Valuable Football Brand, Confirms Benitez as Head Coach

Rafael Benitez has been confirmed as the new head coach of the world’s most valuable football brand Real Madrid.
The Spaniard takes over at the Spanish giants, who are worth $3.26bn according to Frobes, from Italian Carlo Ancelotti who was released at the end of last season.
The 55-year-old arrived in Madrid this week and told local media: “I am enthusiastic and happy.”
Benitez has previously managed Napoli, Chelsea (interim), Inter and Liverpool who he famously guided to the UEFA Champions League in 2005.
It’s not the first time that Benitez has managed in Spain though having won two La Liga titles with Valencia before moving to England.
Earlier this year, analysis by Deloitte showed that Real Madrid earned $611.5m in revenue last year.
The financial report showed that in relation to television broadcasting and the Champions League, Real brought in $227.3m, $17.7m more than the previous year and the club earned $257.6m through sports marketing.
Dan Jones, director of Deloitte Sports Business Group, said: “Winning the Champions League for a tenth time and being on top of the list for a tenth straight year makes this the year of the Double Decima for Real Madrid. The club’s success on the pitch is matched in terms of their finances, reinforcing their position as the most successful European club of all time”.
